Whurzit is a program inside a webpage which is the paradigm of the SaaS concept. SaaS, which rhymes with class and mass, is an acronym for "Software as a Service." Whurzit is simple personal inventory software that helps its user keep up with where things are.
The Whurzit application consists of six screens. This screen gives information about Whurzit. The other screens are:
The Search for Items screen contains tools to facilitate searching for an item and determining which place holds the item. A part of the item's name is entered into the text area at the top left of the screen, and then when the Search button is pressed all the items with the search string appearing in their name will be shown in the table. Clicking on an item in the table will cause the item's description and the associated place's description to be displayed on the right side of the screen. While the descriptions are displayed, they can be edited and saved back into the database.
The Edit Items screen contains tools to facilitate editing items. A part of the item's name is entered into the text area at the top left of the screen, and then when the Search button is pressed all the items with the search string appearing in their name will be shown in the table. After an item has been selected in the item table, a list of places is displayed in the Place table. Selecting a place in the Place table followed by pressing the "Assign Place" button will cause the item to be assigned to the selected place.
In addition to assigning places to items, the New and Delete buttons can be used to create new items or delete existing items from the database.
To create a new item, enter the name of the item into the Name text box and press the New button. Then, select a place from the Place table and press the Assign Place button. The two text areas on the right side of the screen can be used to edit the descriptions of both the item and the place.
The Edit Places screen contains tools to facilitate editing places. A part of the place's name is entered into the text area at the top left of the screen, and then when the Search button is pressed all the Places with the search string appearing in their name will be shown in the table. After a place has been selected in the place table, a list of items is displayed in the Item table that are in that place.
The New and Delete buttons can be used to create new places or delete existing places from the database. To create a new place, enter the name of the place into the Name text box and press the New button.
To delete an empty place from the database, select the place to be deleted from the Place Table and press the delete button.
The two text areas on the right side of the screen can be used to edit the descriptions of both selected items and the places.
